I think the most stable and normal character is surprisingly the mother.
She is the one you feel really sorry after her unborn child was aborted. Her world collapsed. She was killed by Charles in the false realm. She subjected herself to dying slowly in bed. And she didn't deserve any of this.
She loves Charles and Scarlett. She truly suffered the most, and is the character for which you can really feel a lot of emotions...
