Healthy people are not welcome here.

Henry Huxley (known simply as Huxley) is a supporting character in the Hello Charlotte series.

Personality

Huxley is a bit cold and calculating, as one might expect from a doctor, but he does have a soft side. In the first game, he is shown wearing bunny ears in an attempt to seem less threatening to children with airborne diseases. While in the first two games he is caring to a small extent, He is shown to be very narcissistic in the third game, constantly mentioning how he is far ahead of his peers, and how his mind is unraveled. He has sociopathic tendencies, as seen when he feeds Bennet one of his own kind without a second thought. In game three, he is completely cold and ruthless, seeing his "nephew" as nothing more than a project, to learn and be replaced. He preformed cruel experiments on Q84, causing her to be completely traumatized, locking herself in a room to hide from him and his workers. However, it would be inaccurate to call him a psychopath, as he doesn't seem to care if what he does helps or hurts a person, only if it benefits his research. this is seen when he creates a robot to entertain Q84, not for her, but to keep her from bothering her. He is very interested in immortality, as he has dementia, and, despite his genius, has yet to figure out how to cure it.

Background

He was formerly a research scientist working for Überia’s Research Faculties' Laboratory of Human Resources, where he worked on curing Eye Plague.

He runs an inter-dimensional clinic out of Charlotte's home. He is also known for curing the eye plague.

He is also Felix's uncle, and he serves as a father figure to him and tries to protect him from harm.[4]

Role in Plot

Hello Charlotte

Huxley (alongside Aiden and Bennett) find Charlotte in the kitchen. He suggests she try eating wallpaper as it's rich in iron and later asks her to visit the dissection room as he has a favor to ask, before promptly leaving.

After visiting the dissection room, Huxley asks Charlotte to look after his nephew, Felix, as he is busy working on the cure for Eye Plague and Felix "has no sense of direction."

He tells Felix to play with his "new big sister" and then continues with his science business.

Hello Charlotte Episode 2

He greets Charlotte on the morning of Day 1, where they talk about Felix, then Huxley gives her a sticker. He can be seen after school with Felix, teaching Felix about dissecting unidentified lifeforms. He tells Charlotte that Bennett was also interested, but since he insisted on using a chainsaw for dissection, he had to refuse letting Bennett take part in the classes.

After Charlotte returns home from school on Day 2, Felix notices she is covered in blood, so he takes her to see Huxley. He diagnoses her as having Heart Wounds, and that it isn't a major issue. Felix leaves, and Charlotte and Huxley discuss his behavior, deciding that the reason for it is that he is worried for Charlotte. He then tells her that she can visit if she feels sick.

Charlotte can find Huxley before school on Day 6, talking with Aiden about particles and dark matter.

After Charlotte returns home from school, she can find Huxley in the Dissection Room, dissecting an unidentified lifeform. He asks Charlotte if she would mind helping him, and when she agrees, he asks her to move something to the morgue room, getting two of his workers, Baldwin and Goodwin, to help her, and asks them to tell him if the corpse starts moving on the way to the morgue room.

Huxley appears again in Bennett's memory cube, as the scientist who has had Bennett's disposal cancelled. He tells Bennett that he now owns him, and that he is trying to cure Eye Plague, and wants Bennett as a test subject, since he is a B-type, and he has less than half a year to complete his thesis, telling Bennett they'll be the stars of the modern time.

Huxley ended up spending a lot of time with Bennett, teaching him to read and write, and regularly testing his physical abilities. Some time after he tells Bennett to get into a body bag, explaining that he had cured Eye Plague some time ago, and was using research into it as an excuse to test the capabilities of a human, proving that men and overmen are the same, and because of this they were a threat to Überian society. Then he printed all the money they needed and went to the House.

Huxley appears again on Day 31, at night. Charlotte visits Huxley in the Dissection Room, where he is attaching a limb to a body with duct tape. Huxley asks Charlotte if there is anything she would like to ask, and Charlotte tells him that something has been troubling her for a while, the fact that she has been vomiting ink since the Oracle awakened, that she doesn't know where it is coming from, and that she doesn't look like normal ink. Huxley tells her that if it was normal ink, her intestines would be full of ulcers, if not worse. Huxley then examines her. Afterwards when Charlotte asks Huxley if he found anything, he tells her that to his surprise, he hadn't. He tells Charlotte he thinks her illness is psychosomatic disorder, existing only in Charlotte's mind. He tells her that he is unable to help her, as because he is an surgeon if he can't cut it out, he can't do much. After Charlotte thanks him for his help, he tells her he is happy to help her.

Huxley is next seen on Day 32, as one of the tenants saying "Hello, Charlotte!" repeatedly, although Charlotte pronounces his name "HXUELYE".

Huxley is mentioned in the Grey End, after Charlotte has consumed the Oracle and the world, and the Umbrella Man has finished speaking with her. When Charlotte takes Vincent's body, Huxley is mentioned to be walking behind Charlotte.

Hello Charlotte Episode 3

In Q84's timeline, Henry first appears before Q84 heads to school, when she decides to greet everybody in the House. He initially doesn't notice her, so she takes him by surprise, then her tells her that he is busy. Q84 tells him that she just wanted to say hi, he greets her, says good morning, asks her how she is and that the weather is fine today. He then tells Q84 he'll be returning to work. Huxley gives Q84 a pack of Gummy Ears, then tells her to go make herself useful to society. Q84 realizes that she has never seen the faces of the corpses that Huxley experiments on. She asks him why that is, and he ignores her, so Q84 decides to leave.

Q84 goes to greet Huxley again the next day, only for him to reveal that he isn't the real Huxley, but a robot designed to talk to annoying children like Q84. Q84 is shocked, asking if Huxley does robot engineering now. Robot Huxley reveals that Florence does, but Huxley took the credit, and that is confidential information. Q84 tells her that she knew it, and asks if he knows how to make ice cream. He tells her that he does, so Q84 asks if wants to live in the kitchen cupboard in case she needs him, and he tells her he does. Q84 asks robot Huxley if he will agree to any thing she tells him to do, he tells her that he was told to obey anything Q84 does as long as it doesn't interfere with the real Huxley's work. Q84 asks him to kill one of his workers, and he tells her he can. Robot Huxley kills the worker causing his head to explode. Q84 tells him that he is the best Huxley ever, then notices that Archibald is bleeding oil. Q84 asks robot Huxley how many of the workers are androids, and he tells her that five are, and only four of the workers are still living beings. Q84 bets that Baldwin and Goodwin are androids, as they are too nice to be true. Baldwin and Goodwin ask Q84 if she was calling them, and she tells them she wasn't. They are disappointed, then leave instantly, and Q84 tells robot Huxley that they feel bad about not spending time with her, something no organic lifeform would do. Robot Huxley begins to tell her that soap could cause those feeling temporarily, but Q84 thinks that the real Huxley added an advertising function to the robot Huxley, causing her to consider robot Huxley useless and she decides to leave, as they already have six TVs for that. Robot Huxley tells her there are five TVs, as one of them is actually a microwave, causing Q84 to say bye. Robot Huxley bids her goodbye.

Huxley's robot incarnation appears again after Bennett attacks Q84, during Q84's deathday party. He tells Q84 that fridges are fascinating.

The real Huxley appears soon afterwards. Realizing he isn't in his laboratory, Q84 decides to look in the secret passage in the laboratory. Huxley notices that she has found his secret Felix clone laboratory, and tells her that the area is off limits. Q84 tells him that he left door open, and that if he tries to harm her, her soul data will transfer to another vessel, and she will keep coming back until she gets an answer. Huxley notes how persistent she is, and wonders how she knows so much. Huxley tells her that he is a genius surgeon who's far ahead of his peers, but he is also getting old, and his dementia is spreading rapidly, and it wasn't something he could cut out. He realized he needed a replacement, and decided to create Felix Honikker as a replacement. Q84 asks if Felix knows what he really is, and Huxley tells him he doesn't, and that he believes that his parents are on Überia. Huxley notes how motivated Felix is, because he wants to be like Huxley, which is what Huxley intended. Q84 tells Huxley that she is going to tell Felix the truth, and Huxley tells her that she won't, as if she did he would have an existential crisis and stop functioning properly, and that he might have to be replaced. Huxley notes that Felix would have to be replaced as some point anyway, as none of the clone lived longer than two years, but female clones lived longer than males clones, so at some point Felix would become Felicia. Q84 notes that Huxley has everything arranged, then starts to destroy the clones, much to Huxley's horror. He tells her to stop, but she continues to kill the clones of Felix. He calls her a fool, and tells her that the clones took years to incubate, and that everything would be for naught if the current Felix dies. Q84 tells him that means he should value the current Felix. Huxley calls her a monster, and she mocks him, telling him that nothing he can do to her will work.

Huxley is next mentioned by Felix, Florence and Bennett, having drugged Q84. Huxley has had enough of Q84 destroying things that are useful to him, so he decided to have her soulcube extracted, leaving her unable to hinder him anymore. After Q84 escapes, he takes part in the search to capture her, and if she gets found he orders her to be taken away, to have her soulcube extracted.
